What is a Venous Doppler Ultrasound?
A doppler ultrasound is one of the most common, quick, non-invasive, and efficient diagnostic tests that determine the health of veins and arteries. This non-invasive and non-surgical diagnostic test uses ultrasound technology to get a full view of the circulatory system and its structures beneath the skin. Patients can lay back during their doppler ultrasound and relax. Based on your doppler exam, one of our board-certified vascular specialists will be able to tell if treatment will be necessary.

What to Expect During a Venous Doppler Ultrasound
On the day of a diagnostic ultrasound, the patient will be asked to wear loose-fitting clothing. Before the ultrasound begins, a healthcare specialist will apply a small amount of gel on the skin where the ultrasound will be conducted. The specialist will guide the ultrasound probe on the skin over the desired area to view the internal structures of the venous and arterial circulatory system. The entire ultrasound process typically takes 45-60 minutes. Upon completion, the patient will be able to return to normal daily activities.
