About Dr. Taylor

Dr. Taylor graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then attended Barry University, School of Graduate Medical Sciences in Miami, Florida. After completing his studies, he was awarded a three-year residency in trauma, limb salvage, and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle at Emory-Northlake Regional Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. During this time, he also trained and served at the Atlanta Leg Lengthening and Deformity Correction Center. He served as Chief Resident during his final year. Since completing his residency in 1997, he has been in practice here in North Texas.

Dr. Taylor’s qualifications and experience are extensive. He is Board Certified in Foot Surgery as well as holding an additional certification in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He lectures regularly across the country and has authored and co-authored numerous papers and articles in medical journals and chapters in surgical textbooks. He has been honored by the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association by receiving the Gold Stickel Award for a paper he co-authored. This award is given for the most outstanding research and manuscript published during the year in the field of foot and ankle surgery. He is often sought as an expert for court testimony regarding issues involving surgery of the foot and ankle. Dr. Taylor was previously honored by the Texas Podiatric Medical Association as the Young Practitioner of the Year.

Dr. Taylor is a participating surgeon in medical missions where he treats and performs surgery on children with complicated foot and ankle deformities such as clubfoot. He is a past president of the Dallas County Podiatric Medical Association. He has been a member of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association Board of Directors for many years and currently serves as the Immediate Past President of the State Association. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is on the teaching faculty of the Podiatry Institute in Atlanta, Georgia, and serves as an Adjunct Faculty member for the Family Practice Residency at Baylor Hospital in Garland Texas.

Dr. Taylor is married with four young children. He is active in his church serving as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. When he is not spending time with his family he enjoys several sports, but especially hunting and fishing.
