About Michael Birau, DPM
Dr. Michael Birau received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from William M Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, IL. He completed his residency in Podiatric medicine and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery at the James A Haley VA hospital where he served as Chief resident his 3rd year.
Dr. Michael Birau is board certified in Diabetic wound care by the American Board of Multiple specialities in Podiatric Medicine (ABMSP). He is also board qualified in Foot and Ankle surgery by the ABMSP. He is an active member of the American Society of Podiatric Surgery and American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Birau was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and grew up in a rural part of North Carolina. He is married and has 3 boys and is active in his community. He enjoys spending time with his family, grilling, fishing, college sports, and exploring DFW.
