About Joel Brook, DPM, FACFAS
Dr. Joel Brook earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Vassar College in 1983. In 1984, he graduated from Columbia University with his master’s degree in human nutrition and went on to earn a doctorate in podiatric medicine from Temple University College of Podiatric Medicine in 1995.
Dr. Brook is board certified in both foot surgery, reconstructive rearfoot, and ankle surgery. He was chief resident in the Department of Surgery, Division of Podiatric Surgery, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio. Dr. Brook is a member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Association, Texas Podiatric Medical Association, and American Diabetes Association. As a foot and ankle specialist and avid lecturer to both medical and lay communities, Dr. Brook has lectured on vital topics for the podiatric field of medicine. He has also conducted comprehensive research studies and published extensively in several prominent clinical journals. Thus, Dr. Brook has received many honors and awards for his work. Dr. Brook has served as chief of podiatric surgery in Medical City for six years and is on the Board of Directors at North Central Surgery Center.
Dr. Brook was the official podiatrist for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and is now the podiatrist for the Dallas Mavericks. Being known as the Dallas area’s premier bunion specialist, he has consistently been voted by his peers as one of D Magazine’s Best Doctors in Dallas, and is a D Magazine Medical Expert in bunion treatments, along with other complex issues of the lower extremities.
Dr. Brook is married with 3 children and is active in community affairs. He enjoys skiing, biking, cooking and is an avid woodworker.
